I was thinking, (I know a dangerous thing to do) it would be fun and encouraging to make a list of romantic gestures for Valentine's Day or any day for the lover in our lives (hubby of course!). I have tried a few of these and a few are on my to do list for this year "wink,wink". I would love to hear your wonderful ideas as well. I know we can make this list alot longer. Leave a comment on this post with your romantic suggestions! I'll send the random drawn comment a little package just in time for Valentines Day. Let's keep the Valentine's spirit alive the whole year through. Okay here we go!1) Leave a trail of "Hershey's chocolate kisses" from the front door to the bedroom, right up to the bed. On the bed leave a note that reads 'I kiss the ground you walk on.' Make sure you're not home when he gets in!
2) Send your love a letter or even better a card with confetti hearts inside of
the letter so they pour out everywhere when your sweetheart opens it.3) Write a love note or poem on a piece of paper and then cut it up into puzzle-like pieces. Send one a day to your special someone.
4) Pull the bag out of your lovers breakfast cereal box and slit a small hole in it. Insert a love note. Tape up the bag and return it to the box. What a way to start the day!
5) Unplug the TV set. Put a note on the screen saying, "Turn Me on Instead". lol
6) Write him a check for one million kisses!
7) Hide a love note in his pants pocket. Other places to hide a small note:
* under the pillow
* under a dinner plate* in the refrigerator
* in his shaving kit
* between the pages he is reading
* in the take-out box
* in the medicine cabinet
8) On your Hubby's birthday send his mother a "Thank you" card
9) Eat dinner by candlelight: Tonight! Even if it's Mac and Cheese this is one the kids can participate in too!

10) Get tulips and attach this note: "I've got two-lips waiting for you!"
These are all simple and inexpensive ideas to show that someone special that you love them.
Added at 9:45pm 1/27: I look forward to seeing all the wonderful encouraging ideas you come up with. Who could resist? Great blog candy. I love Basic Gray. And those ribons are gorgious.
An encouraging gesture....
Have a heart shaped meal. Heart shaped sandwiches in a lunch, heart shaped biscuit topping on a home made pot pie, heart shaped desserts like jello or cakes, or even a heart shaped meatloaf with baked potatoes smashed into a heart shape as well.

What about sending a giant cookie from one of those Cookie companies. Or making it yourself, I know you have that large heart shaped baking pan. That would encourage my DH anyday.
We've done treasure hunts and scavenger hunts for our Anniversary. This could be done anytime, for any reason really. Even just for fun. We right up little clues and the person would hunt from one clue to the next until they get to the final destination. We've done this with a map also. And done driving treasure hunts and scavenger hunts like this with a final destination being a hotel or bed & breakfast. But if the destination isn't home, make sure a friend drops you off beforehand so you only have one car at the destination. These ideas are so much fun. I'll keep checking back to see what ideas everyone comes up with.
Thanks for offering great goodies for us,
Tina
What a generous blog candy and what a wonderful idea to inspire romance!
How about a promise for a back rub with a few ear nibbles of course ;)
What a great idea! here's my suggestion:
Give him a calendar (for christmas or new year's-or valentines day even) that you've written random love notes in, one on March 12, April 5th, May 27th, etc. That way, when he checks the date, there will be a sweet little note to brighten his day.
If the two of you both enjoy cooking, how about making a special dinner together.
Great ideas! Here's my contribution:
Our kids love alphabets cereal so we place them on all different kinds of things to send messages to each other. Like on a cupcake, or brownie. Even drop them into soups to float on top.
Ginger
Make a coupon book, using SU Create A Coupon of course, to use all of these great ideas for a whole year!

These are all great ideas that should be implemented throughout the year...not just on Valentine's Day. Wouldn't it be great to be surprised with any of these ideas on a random day during the year...so unexpected and wonderfully romantic. My husband and I love to cook together and always fix a romantic meal together on Saturday nights. It's what we both love doing together. Thanks for some great ideas!

I visited from Beate's blog, and I popped in at a good time...what wonderful blog candy!
I enjoyed reading the other ideas shared.
The on-going debate over toilet seat positioning is the backdrop for my idea...write a message on the underside just for him. "It's good to have a man around the house" or some other expression of appreciation to start his day off with a chuckle.
A message written on a steamy mirror is another idea. There is special anti-fog treatment for windows. Write a message with it ahead of time. It will 'magically' appear when the mirror steams up from his shower.
A message written on his rearview mirror in lip pencil (with a nice lipstick kiss) or on his rear window (so it reads properly when he sees it through his rearview mirror) would also be a fun surprise.
Send the kids to the grandparent's for the evening. Then watch romantic or action movies curled up on a sofa with a warm blanket and some munchies.
That's our favorite connect time.
Bridget
Amazing blog candy. Thanks for offering it up for us.
My idea is to have a honey do list that leads him (or her) on a collection route to a weekend destination. Things like "Swing by Alberson's with a song in your heart to pick up some bubbly that makes you sing." or "Stop at our local breakfast spot for a special order in your name that's awaiting your arival." My hubby is a music teacher and we have a special morning place on Saturday mornings we like to go to sometimes. Just having special places or places that are special to you is a good encouragement also.

I finally did it! I started a blog. You can go check it out if you like.
oh yeah, the main reason to comment, we like to go to the drive in just us two and remember the old days where you can make out in the back or front seat and watch a movie. Unforntunently Granbury is tne only one near us. boo hoo See ya Sunday! Tootles!

Hi Deb...first time blog visitor here! I found you via Beate's blog (loved your card that she posted!)
This is such a great post...love the ideas! My idea is to create a special CD for your sweetie. It would include "your song" if you have one, your wedding songs if you're married, and just any songs that mean something to the two of you...inside joke type songs, etc. And of course the most fun part of this would be creating the insert for the CD case! :)
I just stumbled across your blog the other day. I love the great cards you have posted. Keep up that creative flow.
Since I just can't pass up such a great blog candy as this here's my comment:
We like to spend our Saturday mornings together. We take turns fixing breakfast in bed and stay under the covers until almost lunchtime. It gives us the time to catch up from the week, reconnect, and get on the same page as far as the kids and our other commitments go. This is an especially wonderful couple time when we have a weekend away.
What about buying a lobster for a special occation and putting in a fish tank until the special surprise moment and then fixing it for that special someone for dinner. Oh yeah, that's been done already! lol
Taking your special someone to a romantic movie out and holding hands and acting like your kids again.
Reminescing together. Such as visiting the places that have made a difference in your life or that bring back special memories either in person or through photographs. We did a memory lane trip on our way to visit my hubby's relatives since we meet in a small town away from both of our families. We planned an extra day there on our trip up and a day there on our way back. It was a great time together. We covered topics we hadn't talked about in years.
